Intercessory Prayer Scriptures


1 Timothy 2:1 - I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; Romans 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself make intercession for us with groaning’s which cannot be uttered. Matthew 18:19-20 - Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

James 5:13-16 - Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.

Ephesians 6:18 - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Ephesians 6:10-18 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

John 16:23-24 - And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you.

Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Isaiah 59:16 - And he saw that [there was] no man, and wondered that [there was] no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. Jude 1:20 - But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Isaiah 62:6 - I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, Matthew 7:11 - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Daniel 9:3-4 – And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth and ashes: And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O, LORD, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep

Exodus: 32: 31-33 - And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou will forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, whosoever have sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Nehemiah: 1: 4-6 – And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days; and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. And said, "I beseech You, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keeps covenant and mercy for them that love Him and observe His commandments: Let your ear now be attentive, and Your eyes open, that you may hear the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you now, day and night, for the children of Israel, which we have sinned against you: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
